Lecturer  – Haydn Gambling

JCS2 covers a system based approach to dysfunction in the lumbar spine and lower extremities through treatment techniques developed by Dr. Jones that positively affect the sympathetic nervous system, the somatic nervous system, peripheral vascular flow, and the musculoskeletal systems. This course offers a thorough introduction to various dysfunctions that contribute to somatic pain originating from L1 and below, making it the perfect starting point for beginners and a comprehensive lower quarter review for advanced Counterstrainers.

Lecture and extensive lab time are spent on the lumbar spine, sacrum, pelvis, hip, knee, ankle, and foot. Emphasis is placed on developing palpatory and hands-on treatment skills to enhance the student’s effectiveness with the techniques. Upon completion of the course participants will understand the neurophysiologic basis for Counterstrain, be able to perform the general Counterstrain procedure, and gain a comfort level with the more than 85 Strain Counterstrain techniques that are taught. Each participant will receive a course syllabus and technique charts.

It is a terrific course. The course material is great with colour pictures and detail description, meaning that you don’t have to write a lot. I could concentrate on the lecture given by Haydn. Talking about Haydn, he is awesome. I should say beyond awesome. He shared his years of clinical experience with us and blend it into the SCS protocol in which I can use clinical reasoning to make diagnosis and use SCS techniques to my clients straight away. The course is wonderful and Haydn is superb. Remark: I gave Evidence Base 3 stars only because the technique at the moment is not advance enough to review what is happening inside the body under our gentle touch. It happens to manual therapy anyway. The clinical evidence I saw and you will see during the course is the best evidence that SCS can treat.

Another brilliant counterstrain course with some very powerful lumbar and sacral techniques. The content and instruction was of high quality, and the value the techniques offer to clients is invaluable. This course is a must for anyone focusing on lower limb and sacral dysfunction.

This course was just what I was hoping it would be. As a podiatrist it increased my understanding of the spine, pelvis and knees. Furthermore it challenged the way understand and treat the foot. I was able to go into clinic the next day and apply skills that I had learned to reduce a patients foot pain. Very impressed with my learning outcomes.

Best course I have taken ever. For me it has answered the questions I have had in my mind for years. IE. Why do we have to beat a muscle in to submission or cause pain to relieve pain? I love how with this treatment methodology you are literally working with the client to let their brain know that it is safe to let the tension go.

A modality which is under rated. The techniques resolves complex musculoskeletal problems simply where other methods require effort and time, CS makes perfect sense as a clinical treatment tool.
